| Registration for adult education programs begins February 19
Registration begins Tuesday, February 19, for Noblesville Schools' Adult Community Education classes. Classes begin the week of March 4. All are at Noblesville High School.
The registration deadline is Friday, February 22.
The schedule of classes includes an open swim for all ages at the high school pool. Although the open swim is a part of the Adult Education program, it is not necessary to register for this. The pool will be open from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from March 5 through March 26, and April 9 through May 28. The cost per person is $2 per session. The fee is payable at the door.
New this term is a class that teaches the skills necessary to digitally reproduce, repair, and restore photographic prints. Students will scan photos into the computer and then use Adobe Photoshop software to mend tears, blemishes, and the deterioration caused by age.
The class, "Resurrecting Old Photographs Digitally," will be taught by Craig Ryan, an art teacher at NHS. It will be offered from 7-9 p.m. on four Wednesdays beginning March 6. The fee is $22.50.
Other offerings include a financial workshop for individual investors, plus classes in scrapbooking fundamentals, computer-aided drafting, sign language, ceramics, and how to make a home sale profitable.
Classes are:
- Introduction to Computer Aided Drafting: Taught by Joe Toms, high school industrial technology teacher, the class will use Macintosh computers and begin with basic computer use and simple drafting exercises. Students will move at their pace in different areas including architecture, landscaping and product design. The class will meet from 6-9 p.m. on six Tuesdays beginning March 5. The class will not meet on April 2 which is Spring Break. The cost is $45.
- Investments, Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, and IRAs: This class, taught by Greg Dickos, a Noblesville financial advisor, will look at stocks, bonds, taxation, IRAs, and financial planning. It will meet from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for two weeks, beginning March 19. There is no fee for the class, but students will need to purchase a book and materials at a cost of $25 on the first night of class.
- How to Put Real Estate $Dollars$ in Your Pocket: Realtor Annie Cook will teach this free one-night class from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6. Mrs. Cook will offer ideas to help make the sale or purchase of a home profitable.
- Scrapbooking Fundamentals: Mona Long will teach the basic fundamentals of scrapbooking. The one-night class will be from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5. The registration fee is $8. An additional fee of $47 for materials is due on the night of class. For that fee students will receive a photo album, page protectors, adhesive, class handouts, and a black journaling pen. Students are to take at least six envelopes with three to six pictures in each envelope. The pictures should be sorted by event. - Ceramics: This session will be led by John Smith, art teacher at NHS. It is an open studio for adults who want to hone their skills on the wheel, or work on hand building. It will meet from 6-9 p.m. on nine Wednesdays, beginning March 6. The class will not meet on April 2 which is Spring Break. The $90 fee includes clay, glaze, tools, and use of the wheels and kiln.
- Introduction to Sign Language: Tami Ellis, a teacher of deaf education, will teach finger spelling, hand signing, some history of sign language, and the difference between American Sign Language and Signing Exact English. The six-night class will meet from 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, beginning March 6. The class will not meet on April 2 which is Spring Break. The cost is $22.50.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, and continue through 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 22, at the Administration Office, 1775 Field Drive. Registration forms are available at each school, the Administration Office, and the Noblesville Southeastern Public Library in Noblesville and Fishers.

Registration forms may be mailed or taken to the Administration Office. If payment is by credit card, registration forms may be faxed to Noblesville Schools at 773-7845. Registrations will be honored in the order they are received, but registrations received prior to 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, will not be acknowledged until Wednesday, February 20.
Fees must be paid at the time of registration. Payment must be check, money order or credit card; cash cannot be accepted.
