Advisory Council seeks community members

If you have an interest in serving Noblesville Schools but have no children in school, the Noblesville Schools Community Advisory Council may be looking for you.

The Community Advisory Council consists of parents, students, teachers, administrators, members of the school board, and citizens of Noblesville. It is the purpose of the council to maintain and improve communications among these individuals and the groups for which they represent.

The council looks at issues of relevance to not only the school system but the community of Noblesville as it is affected by Noblesville Schools. For example, the council assisted with the redistricting of elementary children before the opening of our sixth elementary, White River, and has looked at a mentoring program in Richmond to see if it is something to bring to Noblesville.

Three at-large members are elected to the council for two-year terms to represent those taxpayers that have no other connection to the school system.

The current at-large members are David Burtner, Chris Hamm, and William Myers. They may be contacted with issues or questions along with the school representatives.

Dan Skaggs is the current president of the Community Advisory Council. He also may be contacted with issues or any interest in becoming a member of the council.

The at-large positions will be up for election this spring. Anyone that is interested is urged to call Mr. Skaggs.

Patrons also may apply for these positions by sending their name, address, phone number, and reasons for wanting to serve on the council to:
